Gingko Barley & Dried Beancurd Drink

Ingredients

  • 1L water
  • 60g shelled gingko nuts
  • 60g AYAM™ White Pearl Barley
  • 2 pandan leaves, shredded and knotted
  • 50g dried beancurd sheets
  • 150g sugar
 

Method

  1. In a pot boil the water, gingko nuts, barley grains and pandan leaves until water is reduced by half and the nuts are softened. Remove the pandan leaves.
  2. Break beancurd sheets and add them into the pot together with sugar.
  3. Remove from heat. Serve hot or cold.

 

Hints: To make Barley water: Boil 150g of barley grains in 2 litres of water for 15 minutes, then strain. For extra flavour, you may add sugar and lemon juice. Serve hot to cold. Use cooked barley as a replacement for rice.
